Artists in the Preschools - for preschool programs

OWSU provides programming in area preschools and daycares that focus on the physical arts.  Visiting artists include puppeteers, musicians, and dancers.  This program is funded through Medicaid.

Math Buddies - for preschool programs

This program explores math concepts with preschoolers.  Educators visit about 70 preschool students each week.  This program began with Henderson Foundation grants and is now funded out of OWSU Title I funds.

Story Lady - for preschool programs and in-home providers

The Story Lady Program began 10 years ago with an early educator visiting local daycare sites and parent homes in order to expose children to additional reading time.  The program has grown to two educators reading to some 118 children each week. This program, like Math Buddies, started through Henderson Foundation grants and is now supported by Title I funds.

Tumble Time - for families

For the past five years, OWSU has sponsored a Saturday play time at each of the schools during winter.  Its dual purpose is to provide a safe site to run, bike and play in poor weather and to get 2-4 year olds into school before they enroll as kindergarteners.  There were seven dates this year where we served about 30 families and a total of 50 kids.  It is funded by OWSU Title I funds.
